The creation of a new railway line with a total length of about 130 km is in progress and will connect Greece with Albania.
The Official Journal of the European Union published the Statement of Open Procedure for the Service Contract for the implementation of the evaluation and selection of investments within the project entitled “Initiative to improve cross-border transport through rail link between Krystalopigi and Pogradec” with the acronym ‘C Hekur’ .
This is what the Greek television, Star, writes today, according to which the necessary studies are being done for the construction of the missing line between the two countries.
This project is part of the “CB RAILWAY” project which aims to develop a joint strategic investment plan for the connection of Greece and Albania, through a new railway line west from Krystallopigi (or Ieropigi) to Pogradec and southeast to Airport K , with a total length of about 130 km.
President and CEO of ERGOSE Mr. Christos Vinis noted: “The project is about connecting Greece with the Balkans and railway Europe. “This is another crucial step towards achieving the national goal of turning Greece into a regional “hub” for the logistics and transport sector in the wider region.”.
